    Indiana educators holding a Teachers of English Learners license are eligible to apply for a Praxis exam voucher for the English Language Arts: Content Knowledge (5038) assessment. This voucher covers the full cost of the exam and provides a streamlined pathway for EL teachers to add the ELA 5–12 content area to their existing license without additional coursework. ELA licensure enables EL educators to teach credit‑bearing secondary ELA courses, expanding access to high‑quality instruction for English learners.

  • This form is only for requesting a voucher for the English Language Arts 5-12: Content Knowledge (5038) Praxis Exam.

    When you are ready to add Language Arts to your professional educator teaching license, you will need to apply via LVIS.  For support, contact the Office of Educator Licensing. Connect with the Office of Educator Licensing staff online and ask questions by joining office hours on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (ET). Anyone may join these open calls at any time to receive support from Office of Educator Licensing staff.
